The Kansas City Metropolitan American Planning Association Section is a regional organization of planning professionals.  Its members belong to the National APA and pay section dues.  Our local section benefits over 500 members located within an eleven county area surrounding Kansas City in two states.  Our members come from a wide variety of planning and land development backgrounds, including private, public and non-for-profit spheres. 

The Section endeavors to provide planners and professional affiliates with a forum to share and talk about locally relevant development issues.  Our members are our most valued asset. We are committed to providing opportunities at various types of meetings and forums for planners and affiliates to meet and expand their education on planning issues. 

• Members receive a quarterly newsletter on regional planning issues that is relevant and quick to the point.
• The Section also provides opportunities for members preparing for the AICP examination to meet with the Chapter's Professional Development Officers.
• The Section schedules planning luncheons with planning presentations about 6 to 8 times a year. Among other events are a few planners' evening socials, and an annual meeting in December.
